In the past few weeks, we’ve enjoyed being amazed by the artistic skills of our students. This week we had a fantastic hip-hop workshop in the PYP, a captivating High School Drama Night, and preparations for the Winter Show and Christmas concert are already in high gear. The Visual and Dramatic arts are pillars of the Inspired approach as well as holding a key role in the IB programs. Do not miss Grade 2 display in the main lobby. A wide variety of types of homes can be admired for their vision and creativity.
I invite you to continue reading below about some new initiatives for the schools of the Inspired group.
I wish you all a peaceful weekend and offer my best regards,
Head of School
The ability to work in a team, to confront common challenges and objectives, to establish relationships and to collaboratively plan activities and goals, are routinely encouraged at ISC; not only with our students but also between teachers and leadership. The use of professional networking to compare and discuss experiences, to contemplate new paths and refine strategies is a real value for which we are very grateful to Inspired. Earlier this week we hosted the DP coordinators of the Inspired schools in Italy, while today at ISC there was a gathering of all of the principals. Dr. Ledermann and Dr. Spurr were also in attendance at this last meeting. The Inspired group schools are comparing common educational practices, all the while continuously embracing the talent and expertise present in the staff at the various schools. It’s a really interesting and engaging journey!
Global camps and Study Abroad
Always with a view towards benefiting from the best of Inspired networking, I would like to update you on some interesting opportunities for our students.
A series of Global Camps are scheduled for the summer months at schools within the group that having boarding facilities. The experience of spending a few weeks in another country, meeting people from all over the world and taking on new challenges is a unique opportunity to practice language skills and personal independence. The Inspired Camps are truly international and offer comprehensive opportunities, including an incredible range of academic, sporting and cultural activities. The Global Camps are primarily held in English, but language sessions are also offered in French, Spanish and German.
Inspired Global Camps 2019 will be offered in Cadiz, Spain; Montreux, Switzerland; Wokingham, United Kingdom, Nairobi, Kenya; Brussels, Belgium and Milan, Italy. For more detailed information on each offer, you can visit: https://inspirededu.co.uk/global-camps/ or this LINK.
Another interesting initiative for our students is to do a study abroad during Middle or High School. This is also an experience that can be done at Inspired schools that offer boarding facilities. Those of you who would like to learn more can contact me personally.
As announced several times already this year, our school calendar includes a school day on Saturday. Highlighted on the calendar is January 19; a day when lessons will be in session from 8:30 to 13:45. That morning the school will open its doors to external visitors and Regular bus service and lunch will be provided to our own students. This day is calculated as an official day of school.
