Another year has passed in a flash with so many initiatives, and challenges that have put us to the test, as well as so many achievements. We have been so completely involved that we did not realize that ten months of intense work have flown by.
In closing out the year, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the entire school community.
Looking back over the year, I feel an enormous sense of appreciation for our brilliant teachers and staff, and I must express my gratitude for all of the times that they were able to touch our students’ human feelings, inspiring their dreams and supporting their efforts. The richness of the IB curriculum is fact of our community, but it is the human warmth that is the vital element for the growth and the accomplishments of all of our students.
I would like to thank the Administration staff who accomplish an enormous amount of work every day behind the scenes. Their efforts go way beyond the school’s overall organization and the communications that are sent.
I would like to thank our students who have given us challenges, joy, many questions and a sense of purpose. They are our true motivation to continue to dream and believe in good values and in a better world.
I would like to express my heartfelt thank you to all the parents who have contributed to the school initiatives, discussions, workshops, coffee mornings and have made a real difference in our community.
I wish you all a great summer and I look forward to a new exciting school year to come. My best wishes to all the students and families who will start a new adventurous school year in other parts of the world, together with a sincere invitation to remain in touch.

I would like to congratulate the students of Grade 6, Grade 7 and Grade 8 who took state exams at the Fino Mornasco School. All passed, many with impressive scores! Compliments also go to the teachers who prepared them well with perseverance. Terza Media exams are not over yet but we expect only good results.
Classes and Teachers Next Year
The end of the school year is a time for farewells and goodbyes; both for students and for families, as well as for teachers. Some families will leave us, but others will join our continuously growing community in September.
We can confirm the following split sections in the PYP: Grade 3, Grade 4 and Grade 6. As we are still confirming new students, it is highly likely that we will also have split sections of Grade 8 and Grad 9. We will also open Grade 13, thus completing the Diploma Programme.
You have received a specific communication with the professional profiles of new teachers who will join our teaching team.
I warmly thank and say good-bye to the teachers who will leave us next year. I know that they will leave deep and lasting personal and professional imprint on ISC. I count on them to stay in touch with us and with the ISC Community.
2019-2020 School Hours
There are some changes on board for the upcoming school year. All Inspired group schools are required to introduce some curricular elements that give relevance to the three pillars: Academics, Arts and Sports.
We will introduce Dance for Transition-G1 and G4-G6, Robotics for Elementary (to be confirmed), Public Speaking and Robotics from Grade 7 to Grade 13. Drama will be a curricular class in the primary section, as well as in the secondary section. From Grade 5 to Grade 11 a weekly hour will be dedicated to the Cycle Assessment. In Grades 7, 8 and 9 an hour of mathematics was added in english at the expense of an hour of mathematics taught in Italian.
Morning classes will begin at 08:30 am with 10 minutes of “homeroom time”, afternoon classes will end at 15:50 Monday to Thursday and 15:30 pm on Friday.
Next Year’s School Calendar
The 2019-2020 school calendar will be posted on the ISC website and at the start of the year we will distribute a more detailed version that you can use in keeping track of the main school events. Teachers start back at school on August 26th, and classes begin on Tuesday, September 3rd.
We have sent you an initial proposal from the After School Clubs for the next school year. In the first week of school, the final program of the first semester will be published. With the arrival of the new teachers we expect to add on with new proposals.
Welcome Back Afternoon for Students from Transition to Grade 11
Before the official start of the year, we have the Welcome Back Afternoon which provides the opportunity for our students to meet the new teachers and new members of staff informally. We look forward to welcoming all of our students and their families on Monday, September 2 from 14:45 to 16:00.
All the classrooms will be open and parents and students from Transition to Grade 11 can tour the campus, visit the classrooms and get to know their new teachers. This is a great time to meet new parents and reconnect with returning families after the long summer break.
On the same afternoon, from 15:00 to 15:45, Mrs. Whittle & Mrs. Pearce will hold an orientation sessions for our new PYP and new MYP parents. These sessions will provide important information about the first days of school, school procedures, academics etc. Attendance is highly recommended for all new families.
ISC Summer Office Hours and Closings
During the summer months, the school office will be open Monday through Friday from 09:00 to 16:00. The school office will be closed from Monday, August 12th up to, and including Friday, August 16th. During that time, it will be possible to leave a message on the school’s voice mail.
IF YOU ARE LEAVING… STAY IN TOUCH!
If you are leaving ISC, we wish you good luck wherever you go. We would be very happy if you were to stay in touch with us – we like to follow our former students’ journeys as they always remain a part of the ISC family. Please send us your contact information to email@example.com.
I wish students and families a relaxing summer, full of experiences, emotions and new friendships. Cultivate your passions, enjoy serene moments, recharge your batteries and return in September full of positive energy. Good summer!
