Primary School: 24/05/2019

Welcome to the next edition of the PYP Newsletter.  It is incredible how time is flying past however we still have lots of exciting events on the horizon which are detailed below.  I would also like to thank those parents who attended the Student Led Conferences today and I hope you found them to be a useful experience to understand more about your child’s learning journey this year.

Sports Day – Third Time Lucky!

The weather has not been on our side for Sports Day this year for our Grade 3-6 students. We have set a new (and hopefully final) date for Sports Day which will be Friday, May 31.  The venue and times remain the same and we do hope that you enjoy watching your child in the games and perhaps participate yourself in our Parent Teacher Race?!

Moving Up Day

Each year, your children experience what it will be like in their next grade level.  Moving up Day is an opportunity for each class to spend an hour in their new classroom.  They will participate in activities and be able to ask questions about what to expect in the new grade level.  Moving Up Day is scheduled for the morning of Wednesday, June 19.

Grade One Parent Meeting

Ms Abbie and Ms Lindsay would like to invite Grade 1 Parents to a meeting about transitioning into Grade 2.  The meeting will explain how parents can support their child with the move into grade two.  If you have questions about the Elementary section of ISC we can address these in the meeting.  The date of this meeting will be:  Wednesday, June 12 at 9:00.

PYP Summer Events for Parents and Students

On 7th June at 10am, all children from Kinder – Grade 5 will participate in a Teddy Bear’s Picnic.  The PTA will arrange the picnic brunch and we kindly ask all children to bring a picnic mat/blanket and a teddy bear/soft toy to join in the picnic.  Grade 4 and Grade 5 students will have the picnic and will run activities for the younger classes.  Any parents who also wish to join the picnic would be most welcome.

Grade 6 students and parents will have an Apperitivo and Music from 15.00 – 16.00 also on Friday, June 7. Grade 6 will join Grade 7 and Grade 8 students as part of their transition to the Middle School.
